Dear MCA Parents and Families,
It is with mixed emotions that I write this letter to all the parents and families of students at Milwaukee Collegiate Academy. I wanted to let you know personally about my decision to leave MCA at the end of this school year to work with Schools That Can – Milwaukee. This decision is bittersweet, I am sad to be leaving and excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.
Serving as Principal of MCA has been a great honor and a defining part of my life. When I was appointed principal in 2011, I had so many ideas and dreams for our scholars and school. I am happy to say, I have seen many of them come true.
It has been a pleasure partnering with you and all the other parents, teachers and scholars that have made my tenure at MCA such a pleasure. I truly believe that we have gathered a group of talented and passionate teachers and staff that together make up this school. I am just one part, not a bigger part nor a smaller part.
Please know that the Milwaukee Collegiate Academy Board of Directors is committed to finding an exceptional leader to become the next principal of MCA. I will remain the principal until July 1, 2015. Kourtney Bauswell, our Dean of Instruction will be working the transition leader until a new principal comes on board.
I appreciate the many, many memories I have made together with the students over the years. I will always feel a part of the MCA family. Finally, I would like to thank Dr. Howard Fuller, the Board of Directors and, most of all, the MCA families, for the opportunity to work toward the success of each and every child at our school.
As always, I thank you for your support of MCA and our mission.
Sincerely,
Rashida Evans, Principal
