Who Really Discovered America?
Monday was officially Columbus Day, but its less renowned counterpart – Indigenous Peoples Day – came out the real winner today at MCA. Scholars wore a student-designed t-shirt expressing what they learned about Christopher Columbus and his impact on indigenous peoples in America.

Alumni Spotlight: Arreiun Tucker
Arreiun Tucker, who graduated from Milwaukee Collegiate Academy in 2017, has won the 10th annual Freedom Scholarship Essay Contest. The $500 scholarship was announced on September 12 by Milwaukee Alderwoman Milele Coggs.
Pearl Exchange
Students in Mr. Marshall’s 12th-grade economics class experienced first-hand how supply and demand works as they switched roles between buyers and sellers and bartered prices with each other based on various situations.

Are you ready to be a student leader at Milwaukee Collegiate Academy? If so, there is a excellent opportunity available for select students during our Summer Bridge. Summer Bridge is for new, incoming students and begins on Monday, August 27 through Thursday, August 30.

Innovative Programming
MCA is a nation-wide pioneer in the Summit Learning student-centered approach to instruction that is remaking America’s schools. MCA was the first school in Wisconsin and one of a few hundred nation-wide to be selected for the program. MCA’s focus is on ensuring that every student not only gets what he or she needs, but is also pushed to grow and achieve.

Personalized Learning
MCA’s Personalized Learning program provides teachers with the resources to bring personalized learning to students, including 1-to-1 access to technology and mentoring. Personalized learning tracks students’ progress and allows scholars to learn at their own pace. Starting in 2016, students receive four years of Spanish and specialized instruction in STEM, fine arts and career readiness.

College Bound
In keeping with our mission of sending scholars to and through college, 100% of our graduates have been accepted into college five years in a row and have earned over $3.5 million in scholarships over the last two years. We continue to provide intensive guidance to scholars throughout college, ensuring that they graduate on time and are prepared for productive careers or graduate-level education.
