On May 1, MCA’s Civics Bowl Team traveled to the Southeastern Wisconsin Federal Courthouse to compete against Washington High School and Tenor High School in a battle of civics-related questions. After about 45 minutes of competition, MCA prevailed with three students left in the knock-out style competition with no remaining students from the other competing schools. Therefore, MCA was crowned the Milwaukee Civics Bowl champions.
In the end, the student runner-up was sophomore Shaloun Mims and the overall student champion was junior Aquantavius Trammell. Other members of the winning team from MCA were sophomores Cortez Brown, Robert Moore, and Taymon O’Neal, along with freshman Viontre Petty. Sophomore Trevon Anderson was also apart of the team, but could not make the competition.
