Welcome to the new school year of 2013-14.  To our returning families, we welcome you back.  To our new families, we are looking forward to having your children attend Milwaukee Collegiate Academy.  We are very excited about the upcoming school year and are very busy working to enhance your child’s education.

The first day of school isn’t just exciting for students. It’s an incredibly exciting time for the entire MCA Team! Everyone was ready to go. Teachers and students were happy and motivated and there was much excitement in the air.

As we arrived for the first day of school on Tuesday, we were all asking each other, “Did you sleep last night?” The overwhelming answer was “no”.

The MCA faculty and staff were simply too excited to share the first day of school in our new facility with our scholars.

We opened the morning by introducing the “MCA Starting Lineup,” the staff who works hard to push our Mission forward. Then, students and staff recited the MCA Mission together. It was a great moment.

We were also honored to have our board president, Dr. Howard Fuller address the entire MCA Family. Dr. Fuller grabbed everyone’s attention and you could literally hear a pin drop while he was speaking.

Dr. Fuller reminded our scholars about the importance of investing in the hard work required to make the Mission a reality in student’s lives.  He shared with them how the committed Board of MCA has worked tirelessly to make sure they had the fantastic new facility they deserved and how it is our scholars’ responsibility to make the most of this opportunity for a high quality education.  We ended our day with a closing meeting where staff and students gave “Shout Outs” to each other for positive things throughout the day.

On Wednesday, September 4, MCA hosted the Schools That Can Milwaukee Collaborative Deans’ Meeting.  About 20 deans from across the STCM network met at MCA to collaborate on how to continuously improve our practices as we serve Milwaukee’s children.  The session was concluded with a tour MCA’s classrooms in session. It was a great way to showcase our school.

Below you will find important information and upcoming events at MCA.
