Here’s an important reminder from Ms. Parker: There is no school on Monday. To repeat: No school on Monday!

On February 16, scholars with 100% attendance from Tuesday, February 7 to Tuesday, February 14 will be invited to a special FREE screening of the hit movie “Hidden Figures”. That means you MUST show up to school on Tuesday, February 7. If your attendance falls below 100% from February 7 to 14, you can still attend the field trip, but you will need to pay $5 to see the movie.

Here’s an important announcement from the MCA Yearbook Squad: The theme of this year’s yearbook has been chosen! It is Rewind the Memories. Look for information soon on how to pre-order your copy of the MCA Yearbook. The Class of 2017 should begin to find their favorite baby picture. Deadline for turning your baby pictures to Mr. Attewell is Friday, February 24.

Breaking News: If you ordered pictures during MCA Picture Day … they are now available for pick-up at the office.

Attention Juniors: The countdown has officially begun and it is just 21 days until Official ACT Test! It is time for MCA to kick some ACT!

The new session of Project Pioneer starts TO-MOR-ROW (that is Saturday people). Remember to arrive on time so you do not miss the bus.

There is no school on Monday … so Tuesday’s lunch is a cheese burger patty on a whole grain bun, green beans, apples and your choice of milk. Yum! This message is brought to you the MCA student council.

Here’s an important public service message from Mr. Carek … here are three things successful people do every day:

  • Number three: Wake Up Early
  • Number two: Inspire and Help Others to Reach Success
  • Number one: Every Assignment, Every Day. That is right. Keeping on top of your homework and turning it in has a major, positive impact on your grades. MCA … every assignment, every day!

Finally, here is today’s Black History Fact: Jesse Owens was an American track and field athlete and four-time Olympic gold medalist in the 1936 games. Owens was recognized in his lifetime as “perhaps the greatest and most famous athlete in track and field history”. His achievement of setting three world records and tying another has been called “the greatest 45 minutes ever in sport”.
