On February 16, scholars with 100% attendance from today until next Tuesday will be invited to a special FREE screening of the hit movie “Hidden Figures”. If your attendance falls below 100% from February 7 to 14, you can still attend the field trip, but you will need to pay $5 to see the movie.

This just in: Pearls for Teen Girls will take place today after school today. Please meet in the Union.

Here’s an important announcement from the MCA Yearbook Squad: The theme of this year’s yearbook has been chosen! It is Rewind the Memories. You can pre-order your copy of the MCA Yearbook for $7 starting this week. The regular price will be $10. The Class of 2017 should begin to find their favorite baby picture. Deadline for turning your baby pictures to Mr. Attewell is Friday, February 24.

Hey MCA, Can you smell that? It smells like love. That’s right … love is the air because MCA’s Valentine Dance will be held on Friday, February 17. Tickets will be on sale starting TO-MOR-ROW during breakfast, lunch and after school in the Union … $5 in advance and $7 at the door! No ticket, No dance!

Attention scholars! We have a number of college trips coming up! Please check out the front office or the counselor’s office to get your permission slips. They are color coded and have the grade level written at the top of the slip-be sure you grab the right one!

  • 11th Grade-UW-Oshkosh on February 23rd
  • 9th Grade-UW-Parkside on March 2nd
  • 10th Grade-Ripon College on March 23rd

Milwaukee Collegiate Academy will be holding an Open House for prospective students on this Thursday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. If you know of any students looking for a high school this fall, please encourage them to attend. If you are interested in volunteering for this important event, please sign up using the sheet outside of Mr. Attewell’s office.

Attention Juniors: The countdown has officially begun and it is just 8 school days until Official ACT Test! It is time for MCA to kick some ACT!

Finally, here is today’s Black History Fact: Did you know that the incredible Charlotte Ray graduated from Howard University in 1872. She was the first Black female lawyer in the United States, the first female admitted to the District of Columbia Bar, and the first female admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the District of Columbia.
