Taleavia Cole of Milwaukee Collegiate Academy’s Class of 2016 was a featured speaker at a special event honoring Sue Selig on June 28 hosted by Partners Advancing Values in Education (PAVE).

In Cole’s remarks, she pointed to PAVE’s support of MCA that includes fundraising that helped fund a new school building in 2013, programs to prepare students for college and PAVE support and guidance to the MCA board of directors.

Cole will be attending Howard University in the fall.

The Milwaukee Bucks generously sponsored a number of students and staff allowing them to participate in the special, star-studded luncheon that honored Selig, who is a long-time supporter of PAVE. PAVE has played a leading role in improving educational outcomes in Milwaukee for nearly 25 years.

“I want to thank the Milwaukee Bucks organization for inviting Milwaukee Collegiate Academy to attend the PAVE Event honoring Sue Selig,” said MCA Principal Judith Parker. “It was an incredible experience for our students.”
