SPOTLIGHT: Technology

Virtual learning at the beginning of the health crisis and school closure taught us the critical value of technology. We committed to providing scholars with equitable Internet access and the technology tools, skills and support they will need to be successful.

The Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy is excited to kick off our 2020-21 school year, even if we have to start it online. Due to concerns related to the COVID-19, we will begin the year of learning online and then re-evaluate in October if it is safe to open for face-to-face instruction. Our first day of school will be August 31, 2020. Please bookmark this webpage as your resource and information hub for Virtual Learning as we start the school year.

Senior Spotlight: Kayla Cobbs

Decision Day coming up fast on May 7 for Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy scholars, we wanted spotlight the  accomplishments of our seniors like Kayla Cobbs.

Kayla has been accepted into seven colleges and UW-Whitewater is at the top of her list where she would like to study animal biology.

She has learned many things during her senior year but the greatest that she wanted to impart on her classmates is to not procrastinate. She has also cited some of her success to the caring educators and staff at HFCA. She chose to give back to her school during her time there by participating in cheerleading.

“Kayla’s strong willed determination to be a successful learner this semester has really shown through as she is excelling in her senior year. I’m proud of her work, her grades, and of her,” said Mr. Pounders, English teacher.

The past year may have been out of the ordinary and full of its fair share of unique difficulties, but students like Kayla show us all that all it takes is determination to persevere. We look forward to seeing how far our seniors continue to go!

Dr. Howard Fuller Academy is celebrating the Class of 2021 as we approach HFCA’s College Decision Day on May 7, 2021. Dr. Howard Fuller Academy is a college prep urban high school with a college acceptance of 100% since 2012.
